Back Donated Gently Worn Clothing and Other Items

A local knitting group has joined a Canada-wide initiative to knit and crochet toques for the Syrian refugees coming to Canada. The Lethbridge group is aiming for 250 toques total. the current tally is 118 toques, 29 cowls and scarves, and 6 pairs of mittens. I've knit seven toques to date and have a few more in the works.

I'm a member of the Rocky Mountain Book Award Committee, an Alberta-wide reader's choice award for children based here in Lethbridge. Between Dec and May, I'll read 70-80 new Canadian books for grades 4-7 students to select the shortlist. Many schools and libraries in the province--and Lethbridge!--will sign up to participate, and the kids will pick the winner.

Took some books in good shape to the Little Lethbridge Libraries in Kinsmen Park and on 7th Ave, and stopped to tidy up the shelf and exchange books that weren't moving between the two locations.

I spent 2 years on the Parent Council at Our Lady of the Assumption School leading the charge to build a new playground for the students of our school and the children in the community. This hard work came to fruition this past summer with the construction of our new accessible playground. Many volunteers from across the community helped to make this dream a reality. Thanks
